Client Services Overview
Time is devoted to understanding our client as an individual with unique needs.
The first thing we do is to spend time getting to know our Client
- We recognize that investing can sometimes be an emotional experience. Therefore, we seek a clear understanding of our client’s deeply-held beliefs about money
- The first few meetings are used to get to know the client’s needs, wants and desires, both from a financial planning perspective, as well as on a highly personal level
- Because we subscribe to goals-based investment planning, the better we know our client, the easier it is for us to help them achieve their financial goals
- Simply put, each client’s unique situation and family circumstances dictate how they should invest their money. And there is never a simple answer to the question of how to invest until we understand the personality of the investor.
We then work closely with each Client to develop a personalized, individual investment program.
- Each program we development is unique to that Client—it’s tailored to their desired investment objectives and personal circumstances.
- It includes a strategic thought process used to develop an in-depth understanding of the client’s needs, including relevant time horizons and how those relate to risk tolerance levels.
- It incorporates a clear understanding of the client’s appetite for volatility and their ability—and willingness—to be either overly aggressive or defensive with their investments.
- The creation of an investment program will necessarily include dynamic tax and estate planning—this is a critical aspect of our client engagement and an important differentiator from our competitors.
Once the program has been created, we engage in investment selection and implementation.
- We construct each portfolio in a way which makes sense for the Client as a unique individual—no two portfolios are the same.
- The investment selections are made in the context of weighing and measuring desired risk tolerance and volatility levels for the client. We use data points derived from our asset allocation software to determine whether each selection fits the client’s risk profile.
- The client is provided with a detailed, written explanation of the investment selections. This document includes our base research, the rationale for the investment selection, and the details pertaining to fees and expenses for each investment.
- The result of this disciplined approach to selecting investments is a portfolio which fits the unique needs of the client. Being purely objective also results in a measure of stability and permanency in the investment program since our clients do not engage in frequent trading.
